Prospera Credit Union (Mission Branch Manager) - Sean Melia,
Don't just bank. Prosper. Sean Melia has been the manager of the Mission branch of Prospera Credit Union since 2004. Sean finds that his involvement in the community allows him to give back to the business community by having direct input into ways and methods of increasing the value they receive. Helping to create a vital and growing business community is a primary goal. Sean is a fully involved community leader who provides representation on the Mission Economic Development Select Committee and Community Futures North Fraser. Sean is also on the board of Mission Hospice Society and Mission Community Services Society, a member of the Rotary Club of Mission Mid Day and a former Big Brother. Building on more than 70 years of history in British Columbia, Prospera Credit Union is proud to be a member owned financial co-operative with branches from Vancouver to Kelowna. As a full service financial institution that prides itself on building relationships, we serve our members through sixteen branches and business banking centres; online and mobile banking; and a locally-based contact centre. Through our membership in The Exchange network, our members enjoy fee-free access to more than 3,300 ATMs across Canada (that’s right, no ATM fees). Making life better for everyone is important to us at Prospera. With an extensive community investment program devoted to supporting the organizations, events and volunteers that make our communities stronger, Prospera makes a meaningful difference in the financial well-being of our members and our communities. Community involvement, community investment, and being a good corporate citizen are a top priority at Prospera Credit Union. We care about our communities and we wouldn’t think that we’re successful unless we made a meaningful difference in those communities. What It Means To be A Co-operative: Financial co-operatives like Prospera Credit Union are different from banks in a number of ways, the most important being that we are owned by the members we serve and because we are a co-operative, every member has a vote and a say in important decisions that affect our future. Mission: We make a meaningful difference in the financial well-being of our members. Values: Everything we do at Prospera is based on our values of accountability, focus, teamwork, integrity, passion, member first and community. In the tradition of our founders, these values are in alignment with the co-operative principles that we were founded on.
